Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.93) Installed from: Compiled From Sources OS: Linux Say you want to copy a file from tab A to tab B. You drag the icon to the target tab, the tab activates, but the tab is completely filled with icons, there is no room to drop the file. Then you just drop the file on top of another one, which should work fine IMHO. But it does not. After dropping the file on top of another icon in the target tab, nothing happens. Carefully dropping in between two icons does work, but is not very user friendly.
Is there any special reason that you mention tabbing? I see no difference to when you drag in the same file view or between two Konqueror windows.
Oh, sorry, no there is no special reason. It's just what I was doing at that moment. :) Maybe you can adjust the title of this bugreport?
Is this a Junior Job? I guess the only thing we need to do is have the icons accept drops and pass the drops on to their parent, the Icon View itself?
confirming for 3.5.2 Even if we don't allow drag & drop on to the actual files, some more useful feedback that this isn't allowed should be given.
this seems to be fixed in 4.0.3, i tried step by step: open 2 tabs with files, drag a file from one tab to another, held down ctrl for copy, the tab activates, put the cursor on another file and released mousebutton. result: the file was copied as expected. so im closing as later, if this still is an issue, feel free to reopen with exact instructions
