Description Thomas Zander 2003-10-04 11:38:45 UTC
Version:           3.1.92 (using KDE 3.1.92 (alpha2, CVS >= 20030921), compiled sources)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.1 20030626 (Debian prerelease)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.21

To reproduce

open a directory view (any)
click on a war file (you may have produced earlier using the archiver plugin)
split konq in 2 views using the views->split view*
you now see two html views of the same document, which is the war.
Uncheck the view->use index.html in the left one.
Activate the right one and see that the checkboxmenuitem is still unchecked, while you are clearly
looking at the html view.

Notice that the showing of a .war file makes you unable to uncheck the 'use index.html' checkbox (why??) but the bug still exists.

Instead of going to a web archive; go to your local directory with the qt docs.

Bug still present in 3.5 branch
Comment 3 klaatu 2008-05-05 02:41:17 UTC
Still present in 4.0.3
Comment 4 Jaime Torres 2008-07-12 11:20:31 UTC
Still present in konqueror 4.1 rc1. This menu is global (applies to all tabs and views?) or local (applies only to the actual view?)

The option is completely global, i.e. per application. Not tabs and most definitely not individual views. Personally this is one of those misguided features that should have never been implemented in the first place. It easily causes too many issues that cannot be easily addressed or fixed.

Lets be honest and close this one, its not getting changed ;)
And frankly; its not really a bug, its really an inconsistency in the design, like Dawit said.
