Description mika 2003-09-23 22:27:08 UTC
Version: 1.5 (using KDE KDE 3.1)
Installed from: Mandrake RPMs
OS: Linux

Copying/moving messages between folders on different imap servers doesn't always work. Copying simply doesn't copy, moving causes the message to disappear into thin air.

This seems to happen more or less randomly on different messages, I haven't been able to determine any common denominator but when such message comes along the bug is reproducible, i.e. it will never work. It happens on messages with or without attachments, regardless of type of the attachment.

I am using Mandrake 9.1 RPMS with KDE 3.1.0 and KMail 1.5. I don't get any errors on console if I start kmail from command line.

I can provide detailed info about sample messages.

Thanks.

Mika, thank you for your bug report. Unfortunately moving or copying between different
imap accounts indeed has some problems in the 1.5.x versions of kmail. A lot of these
issues have been resolved in the meantime and those fixes will be in kmail 1.6 which will be
released as part ofkde 3.2. As a workaround you might want to try copying first to a local
temporary folder and then to the target imap account.

Been there, done that, doesn't work.. Only thing I've found working is
redirecting/forwarding messages to the other account.

But I've lived with it (and lost some mails :-( ) for quite a while now, I can
wait for 1.6.

Thanks for speedy reply!
