Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.3) Installed from: Gentoo Packages Compiler: gcc 3.2.3 OS: Linux do these steps: 1. In konqueror, create a directory named "test" on a fat32 file system. 2. right clic on it and select properties 3. Change the name of the directory to "Test" 4. clic "Ok" The test directory will now disapear. Just hit F5 to do a refresh and you will see it again, named "test" and not "Test". Even weirder, a new directory named "test" will exist inside the first instance of the test directory.
confirmed on kde 3.4 alpha. as a workaround, selecting the item, right-clicking, and then clicking rename to rename the directory works as expected.
Doesn't seem to be in either 4.0.3 or 3.5.7
it works for me too (tested even on 3.5.9)
While it's true that the directory doesn't disappear anymore, there is still a new one created inside for no reason (on 3.5.9 anyway).
After some test. I've reproduced the bug: there is a new directory inside. But it doesn't happen every time. It happen only on 3.5.9. On KDE4 you cannot.
