Version: unknown (using KDE 3.1.0) Installed from: compiled sources Compiler: gcc version 2.95.4 20011002 (Debian prerelease) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.19 Usability: Please remove the "What's this" button as a window decoration hint (or whatever it is called) since thre seem to be no places where the option has any usage in konqueror. A second reason is due to a bug in the file browser part; when I have a what'sThis cursor and click on an icon; the click is treated like any other click.
Thanks for your report, however Can't reproduce the click problem in HEAD. Since people are adding WhatsThis help to their apps for 3.2 (bc of Aaron's tut), I think this is, in a way, fixed. There is already some What's This help in konqueror. It depends on what part (viewer) is loaded, but there is some help on the toolbar icons, at least. The HTML view, of course, lacks such help since it is impossible to guess what to say about the elements. Can anyone reproduced the clicking problem? Otherwise, I am tempted to close. luis
The click problem is very much present in HEAD. Go to your home dir, select Icon View (tree view does not have this probl). Select whats this mode (Shift F1) Click on an icon. The icon action is executed.
I can confirm this, but I think this is a minor bug.
Still present in 3.5 branch
This seems to have been fixed, at least as of 4.0.3 Clicking on an icon or area without a "what's this" definition simply results in a "Not Defined" message, and no undesired action is caused.
The "whatisthis-mode" still open a file on the file part on 3.5.9. Anyway I don't know if this will be solved on 3.5.
I've forgot to confirm that it has been solved in KDE 4 :-)
