Description Hartwig Felger 2003-08-15 16:47:58 UTC
Version: 4.0 (using KDE 3.0.5)
Installed from: SuSE
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (SuSE)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.21-rc3

I have allways several konqueror-windows open. They have all menu on and address- and standard-toolbar visible.
When a website opens an additional window, they often do not contain menu-/toolbar ect. If I forget to close them befor I log-out of KDE, next time I restart KDE, all konqueror windows are headless, like the pop-up window, I forgot to close.

Then I had to reenable the menu, and the toolbars I need for each konqueror-window...

Maybe, this comes from the fakt, that all this konqueror instances are run by only one process, but I did not test, if it is different, when I start a second konqueror process...

I forgot to mention, that I observed this bug also, with my other
installation: SuSE 8.1, KDE 3.1.3...

I fixed this some time ago.
Comment 3 Hartwig Felger 2003-10-06 14:57:12 UTC
Salut David,
I am sorry to say, that this bug is still present in kde 3.1.4. It changed
just a little bit: now not all konqueror-instances are started with the
smallest set of toolbars (from the last session), but the first
konqueror-windows get up right. The windows that are started later in the
session-statup-sequence (I think after an instance that was left with less
toolbars), every then restored konqueror-instance starts without toolbars.

testcase

This file opens a new "annoying" window without menubar, toolbar, statusbar and
scrollbars.
Comment 13 Michael Leupold 2008-05-05 11:22:46 UTC
I can still reproduce this in 3.5.9:
(1) only a single annoying window on session-end
- end the session with only a single no-toolbar konqueror open
- restart the session -> the no-toolbar window is restored
- open a new konqueror instance -> it only has a menubar

(2) several windows on session-end of which one is annoying
- end the session with several windows (with several tabs each) and one no-toolbar konqueror window
- restart the session -> all windows are restored as they were on session end
- open a new konqueror instance -> displayed correctly with menu and toolbars

I can't reproduce this in trunk r804042. While the no-toolbar menu is restored "as-is" all subsequent windows get tool- and menubars like they should.

Er, I show this as still there in 4.00.84
