Description Michael Christen 2003-05-24 22:08:43 UTC
Version: 1.2.90 (using KDE 3.1.1)
Installed from: SuSE
Compiler: gcc version 3.3 20030226 (prerelease) (SuSE Linux)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.20-4GB-athlon

Compared to other applications (i.e. kword) the font size is too big even though the values of "DisplaySize" in section "Monitor" in the file XF86Config is correct. When changing those values the font size changes massively compared to other KDE applications.

Whilst the actual display size is 370 x 270, we had to use the values 421 x 311 in XF86Config to reach acceptable results, meaning that the displayed font size in kivio looks as big as in other applications.

Using SuSE 8.1 (Xfree86 4.2, KDE 3.1) this problem did not appear.

Hoping this information is sufficient for reproducing (and hopefully solving) this problem. :-) Thank you.

Could you send a screenshot, as I can't reproduce the problem here...

here is a screenshot showing the difference of the font size between kword and
kivio. i doubt it helps you a lot for finding the problem...
Comment 3 Michael Christen 2003-05-28 21:24:42 UTC
Did you change the DisplaySize in Section 'Monitor' of the file
/etc/X11/XF86config to reproduce the behaviour?
I think it's possible that the problem did not occur with XFree86 4.2, but i'm
not sure. Unfourtunately all computers around me are already installed with
XFree86 4.3 thus i can't try with XFree86 4.2.

Ok, found the problem. Will fix.
Comment 5 Peter Simonsson 2003-05-31 16:52:00 UTC
Ok, fixed in cvs (if you use cvs please update and test)

Thanks for solving this problem, it looks fine now, but a new problem appeared
in cvs-HEAD version. The font is no longer zoomed if you change the
zooming-factor... This problem does not exist in the beta1 version.
