Hi.  When you insert an ellipse the shift-drag sometimes forces the ellipse to be a circle and sometimes doesn't.

Specifically, if you start dragging (to insert the ellipse) and then hit shift, the ellipse snaps to a circle.

If however you hold shift and *then* start dragging, the ellipse will not become a circle.
