Version: (using KDE Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources OS: Linux It would be nice if taskbarapplet would hide the unused icons and only show the mostly used elements as in windows xp. This would help me a lot because my kicker has 37 pixels height and taskbar icons take most of the kicker. Although I only frequently use 1-2 of them but need them all in general ( like kmix, korn, knotes ) etc.
If it's a wish, let's mark it as such ;-)
is this wish for the tasbar, or the system tray?
For systemtray where we have docked apps :)

http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=17732 This is my attempt to add icon hiding to the system tray. It works well (at least on my machine). It may be buggy as this is the initial release with little testing. If enough people find this interesting, I will maintain and improve the app. Georges.

ding, ding, ding, we have a winner. well, it isn't autohiding because that's just not going to happen with the current systray protocol. maybe for KDE4. but in any case, we now have systray icon hiding. thanks to David Henot for the original patch which this was based on.
Ok then lets close this bug when auto-hiding is working as this is the whole reason I reported this bug.
this is as good as it gets until we have a new systray protocol. what you've requested is completely impossible without changing something very large and external to kicker. you may as well ask for faster than light speed travel. so if your wish is now to "implement autohiding" i'm nailing it with WONTFIX since that will have to come from _somewhere else_.
