Description davidsmind 2003-02-23 09:01:54 UTC
Version: unknown (using KDE 3.1.9)
Compiler: gcc version 3.2.1 20021207 (Gentoo Linux 3.2.1-20021207)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.21-pre4-aa3

Soundcard: SBLive Value.
Driver: Downloaded Emu10k1, midi support enabled

Midi files play just fine and dandy with Mozilla and in non arts based players, but when I try to play mid files in an arts based player it crashes the app and sometimes arts.

Apps/arts no longer crash, which is good. But I still cannot play embeded midi files off of site nor can I play them with kmid. It's quite odd. Does any one have any sucess with midi files?

Same here... Ususally, it worked for me, but when I go to
http://allsiemens.com/melody/melody.php?page=2&letter=204 ,for example, and click one of the links in the middle (ok, it's all in Russian, sorry, but you should be able to figure out ;) ), such as http://allsiemens.com/melody/play.php?play=3399 , it crashes *every single time*. Sometimes, it crashes even at the first page, though I don't think there is any music there. But if I go to the second page directly, by opening the link, not clicking on it on the first page, it seems to work...

Also, even when KMid does work, it's embedded in the page in a weird way - it kind of overlaps with HTML.

I think I changed some File Associations before, without which it either didn't do anything, or, more likely, prompted me to download the file, so I'll try to mess around with it - maybe, I'll find some specific problem...

Is this bug still present in a recent version of KDE, such as 3.5.8 or KDE4.0 RC2?

Arts is no longer developed and has been unmaintained for quite some time -
more than 2 years. With phonon as the replacement for arts in KDE4, we're
closing out all the arts bugs in Bugzilla since there is no chance of them
being fixed.

Thanks
