Description Daan Goedkoop 2003-02-05 21:50:47 UTC
Version: 3.1 (using KDE 3.1.0)
Installed from: (3.0)
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.4 20011002 (Debian prerelease)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.2.20

1) When I add a new card
2) and I choose to add multiple email addresses
3) and I add the first address
4) an empty entry remains at the top of the list.

This first entry is the one you enter in the Edit Contact window, but if you leave that textbox empty this behaviour is not very user-friendly, I think.

Hi Daan,

I can't reproduce your described behaviour here.
What did you exactly?

- open the contact editor
  - input an email address into the lineedit above the 'Edit Email Address' button
or if you wish to add several emails
  - click the 'Edit Email Address' button
  - enter the emails into the lineedit at the top of the appearing dialog and click 'Add'
to add them into the email list

Where exactly appears the empty field?

Ciao,
Tobias

Sorry, indeed, if you do it like I stated first, it does work correctly. However, not when
doing things like below:

> - input an email address into the lineedit above the 'Edit Email Address' button
> or if you wish to add several emails

Yes. So first I enter exactly one email address. But after typing a few letters, I remember
the contact has two addresses. So I backspace the whole address, and proceed as
below.

> - click the 'Edit Email Address' button
> - enter the emails into the lineedit at the top of the appearing dialog and click 'Add'
> to add them into the email list

And now you have an empty field at the top of the list.

Daan.

The development of the old KAddressBook will be discontinued for KDE 4.4.
Since the new application has the same name, but a completly new code base we close all bug reports against the old version and ask the submitters to resend there reports against the new product.
