Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1) Installed from: Gentoo Packages Compiler: gcc version 3.2 OS: Linux I have multiple identities (a and b) and only the first (the standart identity) is assigned to a PGP key. I also use 'Automatically sign messages'. when switching to identity b and than backward to a with the assigned PGP key, the mail is *not* signed! Examples: identity a (standart) -> signed identity a than switching to b and back to a -> *not* signed identity b -> saving in draft folder -> switching to a -> *not* signed
Subject: Re: New: Kmail does not sign message when switching identity Thanks for your bug report. This will be fixed in KDE 3.1.1.
amazing!!! time from reporting to fixing two and a half hours (and today is sunday!)! no other words to say... -gunnar
the bug was solved but appeard again in Kmail 1.6.2 (kde 3.2.2) -gunnar
Tried this in the development version of KMail. Switching identity does not make signing not work. The second 'problem (saving as draf does not regard the signing button), actually this is a setting (Configure KMail -> Security -> Composing -> Never sign/encrypt when saving as draft).
Similar problem, Version 1.8.1: "auto sign mails" is my default setting. However, my default identity is not assigned to gpg keys, so signing is turned off when composing a new mail. When changing to an identity with keys, it would be great if signing is on (=my default) automatically. Additionally, if I turn on signing for the current identity having gpg keys, switching to an identity without keys and back to the first identity, signing remains turned off. I suggest that the signing option is handled seperatly for every identity in the compose window.
