Description Michael A Nachbaur 2002-12-12 03:24:38 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.0.3)
Installed from: Mandrake RPMs
OS: Linux

I set my locale in KDE to HHMM.SS, or 24-hour format without the colon. When I try to add an event with a time associated, the time picker drop-down box correctly shows times such as 1100, 1115, etc. When I click OK an error pops up saying "Please specify a valid start time." As a result, I am unable to add any events with times associated, since no combination of a time is ever accepted. This is using a stock Mandrake 9.0 installation.
Comment 1 Cornelius Schumacher 2003-02-28 09:59:51 UTC
Confirmed. I reduce the severity to minor because this is a very unusual time format.

Comment 2 Reinhold Kainhofer 2003-07-31 15:36:05 UTC
Actually, this is the standard time format of the military and of airlines, so while it might
be unusual for Joe Average, there are some groups of people where this is the standard
format.

Since several people complain that they are not able to enter times as 1100, I think we
should try to find a way to allow such times, even if the system time format is something
differnet like HH:MM.

Subject: kdepim/korganizer

CVS commit by kainhofe:

Allow military time format (e.g. 1200, without any delimiter) in all cases in the time edit control. This works even if the global time format is set to something different (of course, the system-wide time format is the preferred format when parsing the input).
