Version: 1.4.3 (using KDE 3.0.3) Installed from: SuSE Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (SuSE) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.17 I've set up a lot of mail filters in order to sort my mail into folders (as most of us propably do). The last rule is then for the most importand mail that stays in the inbox. These messages there are going to be redirected to another mail account, a freemailer, I can access via a web interface. This all works nice but infortunately redirected messages get marked as being read, so that I tend to oversee some of the new mail. This even happens if I explicitely configure this rule to mark is as being unread. Well, they stay marked read. Here are the file actions I tried: 1. artsplay someallert.wav, 2. redirect to: mail@adress, 3. mark as unread.
I can confirm this bug on the kmail shipped with Red Hat Linux 8.0 (Kmail 1.4.3).
This is fixed in newer version of KDE. kdenetwork-3.1-5 doesn't show the problem anymore.
Well, actually I still have that problem with kmail 1.5.1 in kde-3.1.1 (debian/unstable).
After double-checking, the bug is still present but only appears with IMAP delivery, and not POP3 delivery.
This bug appears to be fixed as a side effect of the recent changes making it possible for a message to have more than one status. The fix will be in KMail 1.6
