Version: 3.0.2 (using KDE KDE 3.0.2) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages OS: Linux This looks similar to some of the other bugs shown in the search from the bug wizard, but none mention nulls, so I'm reporting it. Sorry if it's a duplicate. The following url fails because konqueror decodes the url, but then doesn't seem to know what to do with the nulls in it. http://castor:7927/scanLayout;scanGoto=gotoNext;serverName=inspector%3A7930;databaseNames=voleralogs;scanTerm=%22%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%20%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%20%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%20%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%20%00%00%04%8B%1A%3E%1F%00%00%00%16%00%00%00'%00%00%00%00%20%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%01ANNING%2F%3FSTA%22;showScanFields=show;topLayoutAction=layout If I cut and paste that url into the location bar, it successfully loads the page but then displays the following: http://castor:7927/scanLayout;scanGoto=gotoNext;serverName=inspector%3A7930;databaseNames=voleralogs;scanTerm=" which as you can see, is truncated. (Unfortunately you won't be able to load these specific urls because they are for machines behind our firewall.)
Must be a KURL problem.
KURL doesn't decode %00 by design, doing so would cause all kinds of security problems. The question is why Open Location causes the URL to be decoded while pasting the URL in the location bar does not.
Is this bug still present in a recent version of KDE, such as 3.5.8 or KDE 4.0 RC 2?
issue not reproducible with KDE 4.1.
