(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: kmail
Version: KDE 3.0.3
Severity: normal
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc 2.95.3
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified

Kmail refuses to send mail if the Default identity is blank. The error it gives is:
Please set the required fields in the identity settings:
user-name and email-address

I wasn't using the default ID at the time and as soon as I filled out the default all my ID's worked.

Note though that an easy work-around exists, just put in anything in those
fields of the default identity, the checking will accept them, and still the
selected identity will be used.

This annoyance is also present in the current development version of KMail.
