The ./configure script does not check for the presence of libfam but if I run make the build process dies since libfam is needed to link some part of KOffice. After I install libfam-dev (I use Debian (sid) and dselect) it builds.

Do you remember which parts of KOffice needed libfam? I don't know of any...

This bug is without an answer from the reporter for 11 months. So I am 
changing the bug to RESOLVED/INVALID.
