Description Martin Koller 2002-08-20 19:43:52 UTC
(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: kmail
Version: KDE 3.0.7 CVS/CVSup/Snapshot
Severity: normal
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: gcc 2.95.3
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Suse 8.0

Even if I select "Show MIME Tree Always" the MIME-Tree Widget is only displayed when I select a message which has an attachment.

A message without attachment removes the whole MIME Tree widget (which makes a inconvenient flickering due to the large part of the kmail UI which is rebuilt)

Thanks for the patch.

BTW: Please post further patches as attachment. This makes applying easier
than inline patches with incorrect line breaks.

Don't know which patch is being talked of, but the bug is still there: Setting
appearance/layout/"show mime tree" to "always" acts like "smart". The Mime-Tree will only be
displayed if there are attachments. (CVS HEAD from yesterday, 2003/1/8)

Interesting.
I'm using the version from KDE 3.1 RC5, and here it works - as it does since I
fixed the bug.

What can we check to make sure it works also in your installagtion?

Well, then it's one of the (in)famous bugs that were re-introduced
due to the make_it_cool power-merge. I'm using CVS HEAD (~ KDE 3.2pre).

Patch from Martin Koller applied again to CVS-HEAD.
