Description Felix Seeger 2002-08-11 15:24:01 UTC
(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: boson
Version: v0.7pre (using KDE 3.0.7 1 beta1))
Severity: wishlist
Installed from: compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.4 20011002 (Debian prerelease)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.19
OS/Compiler notes:

Idea:
Interrupt the mini map if the comsat isn't at 100% health.
I think that is called white noise in TV.

thanks
have fun

If anyone has a proposal for some algorithms that we could use to achieve this effect .. I
would like to hear it!
We can easily use both QPixmap and QImage internally, so KImageEffect might be a good
start for a search.

Simply switching it off and on again would be my solution, but that kinda sucks ;)

Something like KImageEffect::addNoise() ?

Subject: Re: interrupt mini map if comsat gets damaged

Can we use a transparent animation (png files) for this 'noise' ?

Comment 3 Andreas Beckermann 2003-03-13 14:42:45 UTC
Yes, thats a very good idea!
It should be pretty easy even :)
So I guess we can put this on the list for 0.9 now (or do we have a chance for 0.8? dunno...)

Unfortunately, Boson is no longer maintained.

we're closing out all the boson bugs in Bugzilla since there is no chance of them being fixed.
