Description Andrea Aime 2002-03-23 19:49:23 UTC
(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: khtml
Version: KDE 3.0.0 CVS/CVSup/Snapshot
Severity: normal
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: gcc 2.96
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Mandrake 8.1

The Java SDK documentation is an HTML
document based on three different frames
which are resizeable with every other
browser I'm aware of but not with
Konqueror. Have a look at:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/api/index.html

IHMO this is a bug since the source does
not include the NORESIZE tag so the
frames should be resizeable. Have also a look
at the specification at:

http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40/present/frames.html

This problem is present both in KDE 2.2.2 and
in a recent CVS (a week old)

I've just noticed that in fact I can in fact resize the frame but
it is not straightforward that the user has this ability since the
mouse pointer doesn't change shape when passing over the
frame border: so it's only a usability bug an annoying one thought.
The mouse pointer should change in a "double arrow" just like
when it's passing over the border of a resizeable window.
Best regards and thank you for your work

The problem is still there, I can resize the frames and the
"double arrow" appears while resizing, but not when passing
over the frame subdivision. Just a little annoyance, in fact,
I can resize the frame and that's important :-)

Sorry but I still see the bug in a CVS HEAD from 22/10/2002... (that
is, I don't see the resize arrows pop up). What's wrong? Maybe a problem
in my .kde directory (should I wipe out it? Please, no...)? Or maybe the
arrow are working only with some theme? (I'm using the standard kde2
theme, don't like keramik, too gorgeous)

I now see the resize arrows too... I wonder, do the cvs mirrors
have such a huge delay? Since I'm regularly posting the bugs
I notice, may I get read only access to the main cvs repository?
Now I'm using
":pserver:anonymous@pandmservices.com:/home2/webcvs/mirror",
it's the only one fast enough...

I see that the votes I've assigned to this bug are still
used, would'nt it be better to free them once the bug
has been resolved so that I can use them to vote something
else... if not, in a few months I will be unable to vote anything
about konqueror...

Hmmm, this bug is really old and marked as RESOLVED, however I still can observe it. E.g. go to http://online.tu-graz.ac.at and try to resize the navigation tree frame.

I can't reproduce this bug with svn r793457 using the sites cited above as examples.
Comment 11 Michael Leupold 2008-04-09 11:51:56 UTC
Can't reproduce this with 3.5.9 and trunk r793457.
