Description jjobst 2002-01-28 20:43:29 UTC
(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: ksysv
Version: 1.3.8 (using KDE 2.2.2 )
Severity: normal
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
Compiler: Not Specified
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: This problem does not seem to occur in Red Hat only SuSE

When starting ksysv either from the command line or from the GUI under SUSE SLES 7.0 I get an error message that I do not have enough permissions and that to use ksysv I must be root. The problem is I *am* root.

I've also tried running this application with KDE 2.1.1 on Red Hat and had no problems getting it started as root.

hi
http://bugs.kde.org/db/37/37618.html
I've had the same problem. I found out that there was no /etc/rc.d in my
installation so I created it with
ln -s /etc/init.d /etc/rc.d
and everything works fine
cheers

Can anyone confirm if this bug is still present in a recent version of KDE, such as KDE 3.5.8?
