(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: konqueror Version: KDE 2.2.0 Severity: normal Installed from: Compiled From Sources Compiler: gcc 2.95.2 OS: Linux OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified 1) type rlan:/ 2) choose tree-view -> you will see a list of network computers 3) click on one of the computer names Konqueror will display a minus sign in front of the name (ok) and the tree will expand (smb ftp...) (ok) 4) click on smb the name smb disappears and the tree does not expand. Instead the name of the shares are scattered over the list (one name is always displayed on top of the entire list). this bug does not depend on the position of the selected computer in the list. I have put up a screenshot on http://home.in.tum.de/strutyns/sc.png The screenshot shows the following situation: I clicken on thor.glhnet.mhn.de smb. "Diversa" and "Uploads" are both directories that should be listed under SMB and the SMB "folder" has disappeared. (Submitted via bugs.kde.org)
Created attachment 5953 [details] Look at the network in tree mode.
Created attachment 5954 [details] Here GLH should be expanded, but isn't.
this is no bug in smb neither lanbrowsing but in the tree view, which basically can't be fixed. Below smb://GLH is smb://ALEX - smb:/ doesn't follow the usual tree structure
Stephan, it seems you have stated that this bug is INVALID. I don't really understand the details as they are too technical. If this bug is invalid, can you please close it?
it's not invalid. it's just not fixable easily. For KDE4 I consider adding a parent URL hint to the smb urls, so the tree view has a way to fix this
Stephan, any update on this bug with kde 4.0 ?
Bug still present in 3.5.9. In svn trunk r803492, there doesn't seem to be the option of tree-view at all.
where should I type rlan:/ ? if it is where I normal enters the adressess in konq I got a new windows with "protocol not suporteted" in both kde 4.2.4 and kde 3.5.10 Do you still have the problem in kde 4.2+?
