Description 2012-02-26 00:12:48 UTC
Version: 1.6.1 (using Devel)
OS: Linux

When moving a file to another file (using folders panel), it happens that the folders panel start scrooling up too fast (in case the dir you want to move the file is upper from the folder where the file your using), or scrolling down too fast (in case the dir to where you want to move the files is downer from the folder where the file your using).

The folders panel starts scrooling too fast and doesnt stop untill reaches the top, or bottom case the dir to where you are moving the file is down.

Before dolphin2.0 i used to move files and tis behaviour never happens, dolphin used to go smoothly up/down untill te dir i choosed.

For what it's worth, I agree with this. I know "too fast" is a subjective thing, but where Dolphin ramped up at a nice speed when scrolling in previous versions, it takes off like a rocket now, making it easy to overshoot your target, especially if it's just a few lines up or down.

Given everything on your plate right now I'd certainly consider this a rather low priority, but I do hope you'll give it some thought when you get a chance.

Resetting assignee to default as per bug #305719

I can confirm that this behavior still exists with Dolphin 17.12.3. We should probably decrease the scrolling speed if that is easily possible in Qt.

This seems to be much better on 20.08.1. I expanded a folder with over 4,000 other folders inside and it scrolled smoothly and slow enough.

Can you please recheck on a recent version of Dolphin to see if the issue still exists for you.

Scrolling speed may be a bit better. Can't clearly remember how it compares to the behavor 8 years ago. It feels faster than it probably should be, but not so fast I'd file a bug report about it, so I guess that's an improvement? :-)

Yeah sorry for the late reply, I'm new to KDE and just trying to clear up old bug reports.

I'm going to resolve this as another and myself have confirmed it "feels" good.

If Ze wants to reopen they can when they receive this email.
