Created attachment 64835 [details] screenshot Version: 4.7.2 (using KDE 4.7.2) OS: Linux If I right-click on the title bar or choose the window menu from the left-corner of the title bar, the menu appears near the upper-left corner of the monitor, not next to the cursor or attached to the window menu icon. In the attached screenshot, I clicked on the menu icon of the Dolphin window and the menu appeared far away from the window. I have another system with two monitors and it's really a problem when the menu appears on the upper-left of the left monitor but the actual window is on the right monitor. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Right-click on title bar of any window, or left-click on the window menu button in the title bar. Actual Results: The menu appears in the wrong location. Expected Results: The menu appears next to the cursor (for right-click) or next to the menu icon (for left-click on menu icon). This is a new problem with KDE 4.7.x in Fedora 16 Beta. It worked fine in Fedora 15.
a) you imply that it happens on single screen systems as well, right? b) in case, please try "kwin --style plastique --replace &" - still a problem?
It's the same for me (single display) after using that (the popups are styled differently of course). left click on upper-left of window => dialog appears on upper left of screen right click on title bar => dialog is always on top of screen, displaced somewhere between the left of the screen and where it *should* be. Seems better the closer the left edge of the window in question is located. Full disclosure, this is testing kde-4.7.2 with qt-4.8.0-rc1
qt 4.8 related issue has been reported (for multiscreen) at least as bug #284808 (i think there were others) @Jeffrey: are you using some Qt 4.8 beta? @Rex: what UI style? At least Bespin and Oxygen use ARGB popups, QtCurve possibly (or configurably) Setting a client ARGB during internally used to create a new native widget, what could confuse latter (untested) Qt version. "Plastique" etc. should be save. Same issue?
Yes, Fedora 16 Beta currently has qt-4.8.0-0.17.rc1.fc16.x86_64
Yes, it's a problem on both single- and dual-monitor systems. It's just more pronounced on dual-monitor since windows on the right-monitor have their menus appear way over on the left. I tried kwin --style plastique --replace & but the problem persists
