[Part of the Dolphin Bug Weeks 2012]
This seems to be worknig fine in Dolphin 2.1/KDE SC 4.9.2 (openSUSE 12.2.6 KR49 package). When you say "delete a file" are you selecting the "Delete" option in the menu, or the "Move to Trash" option? The delete option is supposed to bypass the Trash.

Did a little more messing around and figured out what you mean. When searching with Nepomuk, the "Move to Trash" option is greyed out and you can only use "Delete."

Move to Trash appears here as expected in Dolphin 16.12.3 and 17.08.0.
