Description Christian Krause 2010-11-07 00:10:59 UTC
Version: 1.4.0 (using KDE 4.5.2)
OS: Linux

As far as I know there is currently no up-to-date digikam-doc package and so it seems to be the case that the distributions stop shipping this package.

Because of this there is the following behaviour:

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Use menu entry "Help / digiKam Handbook"

Actual Results:
KDE Help Center opens with the standard "Documentation not Found" page.

Expected Results:
The handbook should be displayed. Either locally from an up-to-date digikam-doc package or probably the following URL (which seems to be more up-to-date) http://docs.kde.org/development/en/extragear-graphics/digikam/index.html should be opened.

The digiKam handbook is released separatly.

It's a separate package provided by your linux distribution

If you want to see handbook updated, please contribute

It's in charge to your linux distribution to package handbook.

The menu entry to link with handbook come from KDElibs. It's follow GUI standard.

This problem do not exist with next 5.7.0 as the handbook is open now with
online version through an embed web browser based on QtWebView
