Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.1) OS: Linux I've got a directory , say it /Library , and /Library/.directory sets directory icon to folder-book , and also i've got a bookmark ( shows up everytime in a dialog , something similar to QFileDialog ) named /Library , pointing to same directory , but icon was set to folder-book2 And thus , when dolpin opened /Library , information panel will show up folder-book2 , which is definitely wrong , i'm wondering why it reads from bookmarks rather than .directory file. Thanks. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Create a directory , setting icon to folder-a ; In any KDE Dialog used to open files , save files or whatever that with a bookmark menu on the left , add an bookmark , pointing to same directory , but icon set to another one. Enable information panel in dolpin , move to that directory , see the preview icon of that directory is with wrong icon.
Another clew is when you set the right icon on bookmark , preview shows up right.
This is not really a dolphin problem. Dolphin at this point uses KFileItem::pixmap [1], so the "bug" rather is in that code. Unrelated to this bug I wonder why KFileItem::pixmap does not use KFileItem::iconName internally. PS.: I am decreasing both the severity and the priority as this is just a tiny visual glitch. [1] @dfaure yeah Dolphin uses that there ;) Though imo dolphin should use iconName instead --> especially because of overlays, yet that is a different story.
Resetting assignee to default as per bug #305719
Reassignin to KIO because it seems to be an issue in KFileItem::pixmap(), as Matthias said (BTW, I can reproduce this in KDE 4.10.5).
Works for me in KDE Frameworks 5.45.
