Description Nikos Platis 2010-04-28 11:58:43 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.4.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Mandriva RPMs

Take any archive (zip or tar.gz), put it in a folder with some Greek characters in its name, and double-click the archive. Dolphin tries to open the archive "inline" and show the contents in the same window.

Unfortunately, it runs into something like an endless loop and shows nothing. The location line flickers.

The only solution is to press "Up" to get out of the archive contents and into the folder that contains it ("Back" does not work).

The same happens if *any* folder in the path of the archive contains Greek characters.

This should not happen, and does not happen if the folder name is in English.

I have not tested with other non-English characters in the path name.

Cannot reproduce using KDE SC 4.4.5.

This is what I've done:

1) created a directory named "ΦΫ"
2) added some files/subdirectories in it
3) compressed the directory: "ΦΫ.zip"
4) copied the zip into the directory, just for having some particular chars in the path
5) browsed the zip file

Indeed it seems to work in KDE 4.5 RC2.
Closing the bug.
