Version: (using KDE 4.4.2) OS: Linux Installed from: Archlinux Packages When entering sftp://host/ in dolphin, you are sent to your $HOME folder. When you try to navigate up to the root folder (by clicking on the paths in the URL bar), you are sent back to your $HOME once you reach the root folder. It is entirely impossible to navigate to the root folder with sftp in dolphin. When using sftp:// in konqueror instead of dolphin, it is possible to reach the root folder though. I know this bug existed before (somewhere between 4.1 and 4.3) and has been fixed before, but appeared again in 4.4.
Cannot reproduce using KDE SC 4.4.5. Would you like to test it again? Thanks!!!
The situation has somewhat improved (4.4.5 here): Entering sftp://hostname/ I can now navigate to the root, while sftp://hostname navigates me to $HOME. However, whenever I am in any folder and click on the hostname here [1] I still get sent back to the home folder, instead of the root. I need to press F6 and edit the URL manually. Can you still reproduce this bug with Dolphin 17.12.3? If not, I'll close this bug soon.
Hi, the bugs look solved since a while. I have tried with Dolphin 17.12.3 (KDE 5.44.0) and it works as expected: without ending "/" it goes to $HOME and clicking on hostname it goes to "/", not to $HOME as reported.
