Description Mad Fish 2010-04-18 17:06:35 UTC
Version: 1.4 (using 4.4.2 (KDE 4.4.2), Arch Linux)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.33-ARCH

The only way to get free space is to open folder properties somewhere on the drive. But when I open properties, it starts to calculate folder size, and that makes a huge load on the hard drive, which is completely unnecessary - I only wanted to know how much space is left!

Please, make a more usable way to get free space. For example, it can be shown in status bar (like in GNOME, as I remember). Or maybe show exact numbers in Places view (not only bar). Or something else.

Settings->Configure Dolphin... -> "General" section -> "Status bar" tab: Enable "Show space information".

I'd guess that this is what you're looking for? ;-)
