Version: 1.3 (using KDE 4.3.5) Compiler: Unknown; OS is PC-BSD 8.0, and Dolphin was installed as part of the basic package OS: FreeBSD Installed from: FreeBSD Ports Every time that I attempt a file/folder search in Dolphin, I get no results and an error message: "The process for the nepomuksearch protocol died suddenly." I'm running PC-BSD, which is based on the FreeBSD 8.0 kernel. Dolphin was installed as a part of the basic package; I have no idea how it was compiled. The search capability in Krusader works fine, but that package has another problem.
In KDE SC 4.5, when dolphin searchs files or folders using the filename, it will use the old way (kio) and does not depends on nepomuk. When you try to search file contents, then it will use nepomuk and the message could happen, or return 0 items found.
@Jaime: The fallback to the old way (kio) will be done in KDE SC 4.6, not 4.5 ;-) However with KDE SC 4.4 and/or 4.5 also searching with Nepomuk works reliable. @Mike: Please reopen this report if it still occurs with KDE SC 4.4 or 4.5. Thanks!
