Description Jonas Thorell 2010-03-10 14:06:27 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.4.1)
OS: Linux
Installed from: openSUSE RPMs

Using K3B 1.70.0

I have one entry in the sidebar that is not always available (an encrypted partition that I only mount as needed).

When it's mounted, there are no problems. When unmounted, however, I get an error-box claiming "/media/realcrypt1 does not exist" (which, of course, it doesn't at that point) upon starting K3B.

I can circumvent the error by making sure the place in question is only shown in Dolphin, but that would remove the need for having it in the places panel in the first place.

I'm not sure why K3B is choking on a places-path not being available at startup. Other programs only complains if I try to access the path by mistake, which is as it should be. Is K3B trying to validate that the paths exists? If so, I think it shouldn't try to do that. Or that there should be an option to suppress that specific message.

In an attempt to clean up old bugs that are not valid for K3b 2.0 (=KDE SC 4.x port) anymore, this is now being marked as UNMAINTAINED.
If this bug is still valid for 2.0, please reopen it.

Well, I thought it was the to-become-2.0 I reported on. If it was unclear, I'm sorry. It's the KDE4 version. At time of reporting, 1.70.0. I've now upgraded to 1.91.0 and the bug is still there, so I'd say it should be reopened.

OK, I'm reopening it then :)

SVN commit 1106628 by mmalek:

Turned off showing errors from KDirLister.
They can be annoying when one or more of the places are not accessible at the start of K3b.
