Version: 1.4 (using 4.4.00 (KDE 4.4.0), Gentoo) Compiler: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.32-gentoo-r5 Even if I uncheck View->Preview and Settings->Configure Dolphin->General->Previews->Vidoe files (MPlayerThumbs), previews are still being generated. This means, that if I try to watch a movie from a CD or DVD, I get a slideshow instead of a movie until the preview is generated. As documented here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLd92F83C_g ;)
I can second that. The only way to disable that is to close the information panel in dolphin. Would be nice if no preview is created for the information panel, if not checked in the preview options, or make it at least a separate option. This may not a problem for images, but creating a video thumbnail may take a long time and with multiple instances the system can get very slow.
Confirmed on KDE 4.4.3 I managed to disable mplayerthumbs only by deleting kdemultimedia package (that's openSUSE)
Resetting assignee to default as per bug #305719
This is not reproducible using dolphin 4.12.0 on Kubuntu. I tried enabling , disabling and re-enabling again.
Thanks for testing! I can't reproduce it too.
