Description Jeffrey 2009-12-30 18:59:07 UTC
Version: 2.2.1 (using KDE 4.3.4)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

I like the ability to copy music from my main collection to other collections, such as my Sansa Clip or Apple iPod. However, the possibility of permanently moving these files is too easy, and I have come across many missing files that must have been moved because my Amarok collection did have them at one time. (thank goodness for backups!)

My wish is to keep the "Copy to collection" option but I would really like to turn off (remove) the "Move to collection" menu option completely. Even if I am very careful, I know that others have our shared music collection and they may end up removing my files. Changing file permissions isn't so much an option because I occasionally change the ID3 tags or other stuff and I don't want to remove my write perms to these files.

I think this would work best in the Configure Amarok > Collection area, but if implemented I'll be happy with it anywhere.

Thanks for Amarok!

Selecting this action will now cause a dialog that requires the user to confirm the move.
