Version: (using KDE 4.3.4) OS: Linux Installed from: openSUSE RPMs This is a strange bug I need help to debug. If I copy the folder via dolphin, i.e. d&d or CTRL+C/V, dolphin tells me that it cannot write path/filename. If I open a konsole and copy the files it works. If I create the folder manually and drop the folder in its parent via dolphin the files get copied too. So I guess there is something wrong with creating the folder. However copying other folders from the same parent folder works without problems in dolphin. ls -la shows: drwxr-xr-x 2 rabauke users 0 23. Feb 2009 Super Hits So that should be fine as well. How can I find out what bug causes dolphin to not create the folder when dragging and dropping it?
@Sven: Does the error message appear in the status bar or as dialog box? Would it be possible that you post the exact error message to this bug report? Thanks!
It's a dialog box. Tried to reproduce it and deleting the folder "Super Hits" and d+d it again works. Yet if I delete the parent folder "Johnny Cash" and drop that one which of course includes "Super Hits" I get the same notification again: "Folder /home/username/Ablage/Musik/Volksmusik/Johnny Cash/Super Hits cannot be created." or in German "Ordner xyz kann nicht erstellt werden." cp -R Johnny\ Cash/ /home/username/Ablage/Musik/Volksmusik/ which is the equivalent command on the command line works.
I'm not able to reproduce it with KDE SC 4.5. Are you able to reproduce it with a more recent KDE SC version?
Cannot reproduce with Dolphin 17.12.3, closing for inactivity. Please reopen if this problem persists in the newest version.
