It seems that the "read-only source path" is not mandatory....
Comment 10 Dario Andres 2009-12-14 16:44:57 UTC
BTW, an user experiencing a similar crash confirmed that the bug was fixed after reinstalling/updating some KDE packages.
- Could you try reinstalling your kdelibs and kdebase packages ?
Thanks

Many thanks
I'll try this evening, but it's easy to do with mandriva ...

but, I'll try to do it, and I inform you as soon as possible

in french :
merci beaucoup
j'essaye ce soir, mais c'est assez difficile avec mandriva
mais, j'essaye de le faire, et je t'informe dès que possible

it's very simple to speak french, isn't it ?
it's not difficult, and, yesterday, I didn't see that I was writting to a foreign personn, because mandriva is a french system

I'm sorry
christophe

From bug 230694:
What I was doing when the application crashed:
1. pick file in dolphin
2. drag it on the remote disk visible on places panel
3. crash of application
4. repeats all the times

I believe this is the crash that was fixed in r1071275 for kde-4.4.0, for bug 169027 and bug 181350.

Can anyone who upgraded to 4.4 by now, check the debug output from dolphin/konqueror for an "ERROR" line like "KMimeTypeTrader: couldn't find service type..."? What does it say exactly?
