Description Carsten Pfeiffer 2009-08-12 10:53:14 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

In KDE3 it was possible to drop files from e.g. a vmware session into Konqueror. This doesn't work with Dolphin. I think with Dolphin in 4.2 I even got a small popup window asking whether I want to create a file (but not with the correct contents). In 4.3, I don't even get that popup, the drop is simply ignored.

same behaviour here. vmware 7.1.1 on windows 7 host, kde sc 4.5.0 in archlinux.

Resetting assignee to default as per bug #305719

Is this still an issue in KDE 4.9? Moreover, does this only occur in Dolphin or also in other KDE apps which can receive drop events?
Comment 4 Carsten Pfeiffer 2012-12-19 05:19:48 UTC
Thanks for the reminder -- I just tested it with VMware Player and KDE 4.8.4 (Debian unstable) and both directions of Drag&Drop work just fine:
- dragging files from Dolphin to VMware (Windows guest)
- dropping files from VMware (Windows guest) to Dolphin

Thanks!
