Version:            (using KDE 4.2.98)
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages

For example, just open this bug report in Konqueror.

Now copy the text portion of my bug report.
Then paste it into the comment box below the report or into Kate, or whatever. 

The result is that the linebreaks are lost. I tested this and it works with Gecko and WebKit.
