Version: 2.1 (using 4.2.3 (KDE 4.2.3), Gentoo) Compiler: i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.28-gentoo-r5 With excuse of bug owner, I report this is crash even Amarok ius not crashing. However I think that Amarok has special power to destroy mp3 files. in file browsing view I selected all mp3 files under one directory, then right click, then edit track details. I modified Artist and album information and saved. Hmm. Since that time, these mp3s plays choppy with special water fool effect behind. I decided to try 2 more albums and the result is same. Corrupted sound. Than I rather stop, because I wanted to save some music. Hope, when this is fixed, I will get my mp3 back.
Changing severity to critical as this implies data loss
I can't reproduce this at all, tried with 2 different groups of several mp3 files and noting changed in the sound. Could you make sure you are indeed using the Xine backend in Phonon? Using 2.1-SVN, r979209, build 09.06.2009, Jaunty 9.04 with KDE 4.2.90
hm, so I did more testing. Using VLC with these files I modified have no sound issues. Using Amarok and Kaffeine-1svn-qt4 and even mplayer has same sound issues. Yes using Xine Phonon.
Created attachment 34412 [details] Sound setup
No idea what happened there, and as I said, I can't confirm this at all.
Changing the priority
Can somebody reproduce this? I can't, and I have tried very often, no way to reproduce this. Should this eventually been sent to phonon? With so little information there is not much else we can do, and it is certainly not an Amarok bug.
Reassigning. Sorry to not be able to give more information. Changing severity to normal, as there is absolutely no data loss, the same files playing correctly in VLC according to the reporter.
Can you reproduce this with current KDE 4.3.3 and Amarok 2.2.0? As said before, I can't confirm this.
well I would suggest to close this bug. I have some doubts, that files I have touched by Amarok for id3 tag modifications has been ripped somehow strange way. I did not observed it anymore later.
Thank you for the feedback. Closing then :)
