Description Brett Sheffield 2009-04-18 13:14:36 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

Attempted to connect to a WPA access point using the network manager plasmoid. On two separate occasions (with a reboot in between) this has resulted in a similar kded crash.

Backtrace 2:

This backtrace appears to be of no use.
This is probably because your packages are built in a way which prevents creation of proper backtraces, or the stack frame was seriously corrupted in the crash.

I can confirm that this happens to me on 3 different machines with 3 different Wireless cards and 2 different APs - same KDE4.2.2 Kubuntu packages.
Comment 2 Dario Andres 2009-04-26 16:01:38 UTC
@Brett: it is better to not mix differente crash traces. If you report a crash again try to use one report per backtrace/crash.Thanks!

Can someone install the debuginfo packages and post a useful backtrace? I have not seen this crash myself.

I could not find "debuginfo packages" to install could you tell me where/how/what to install
Comment 9 Christophe Marin 2009-05-04 10:02:25 UTC
@#7:
You will find informations on this page: http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports

What you need is the debug package for kdelibs.

Here's the backtrace we got downstream at https://launchpad.net/bugs/370465
It's missing Qt symbols but otherwise it should be ok.

Oh, and kdelibs symbols too :/
I guess it's not ok. I'll ping the downstream bug for an updated backtrace.

resolved/backtrace was not a valid resolution.
Comment 15 misiaczkowski 2009-06-09 17:13:11 UTC
I don't know is it solution. But all my problems disapeear when I install Gnome network manager. I don't use it but when I install Gnome I notice that it find my connection and autoconnect it. I remove Gnome and again problems start showing. So I install only "Gnome network administration tool" and everything work like a charm.
