Version: (using KDE 3.5.10) OS: Linux Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages Running KDE 3.5.10 on a 2.6.26-1-686 Squeeze- Debian, dual monitor on a laptop, graphics card is an radeon xpress 200M 5955 PCIE. Main monitor (=laptop's monitor) running at 1280x800 @ 60Hz, second monitor running (tft) running at 1280x1024 @ 75Hz. On the second monitor everything works fine: maximizing a window fills the screen, popu-menus "fold" up, when there's not enough space between cursor and lower screen border. On main monitor, maximizing a window exceeds the lower screen border for about 200 pixels (which seem to be 1024 - 800), as well as popup-menus. tried to change the resultion(s) with krandrtray, didn't do anything. tried to move ~/.kde to ~/.kde_old and reboot, didn't help. my xorg.conf: http://paste.debian.net/33368/
Is this reproducable in a newer version of KDE (e.g. 4.2)?
when i tried kde 4 (don't know excact version, the one installed by default by kubuntu 8.10 iirc), i was'nt able to get dual-monitor to work at all, so this is a "no".
As KDE 4 is available in Debian testing: have you tried again?
using KDE 4.2.2 now, same problem as before
Sorry for the delay. Since the screengeometry backend has changed / was replaced: is this still an issue? In case, what kind of musltiscreen setup is this? - xinerama, xrandr, independent screens, or some fglrx proprietary mechanism?
thanks for the update. yes, has been some time
