Version: (using KDE 4.2.2) OS: Linux Installed from: SuSE RPMs I have just upgraded to KDE 4.2.2 (8 Apr 09), on openSUSE 11.1. Am using GNOME alongside KDE 4.4.2 & KDE 3.5.10. Though GNOME & XFCE have the option for 'Suspend' & 'Hibernate', I do not find a similar option in KDE 4.2.2 (Release 111), when clicking on 'Leave' (Main Menu). It was the same in KDE 4.1.3 as well. I use the 'Classic Menu Style' (Pict 1) of the Menu Launcher (similar to Windows XP), and on clicking on 'Leave' there is no option for Hibernate/Suspend either in the Main Menu (classic style) or in the pop-up box that appears after clicking 'Leave' (see Pict 2). However, on changing the Application Launcher Menu to 'Kickoff Style', I get those options under 'Leave' tab on the right. I prefer the Classic Menu style. How can I get these options in the KDE Main Menu-Classic Style ? The 'Suspend' (not 'Hibernate') option is present in KDE 3.5.10 (_Classic Menu Style_) and works well. (Picts 3 and 4). _PS_ For pictures (screenshots) mentioned above, please have a look here (KDE Forums) http://forum.kde.org/hibernate-suspend-option-not-present-kde-4-2-main-menu-t-41806.html
(When using KDE 4.2.2 (Rel 111): It ('Hibernate'/'Suspend' button) is there when you click the 'Leave' / 'Shutdown' button, in both Classic and Kickoff KDE 4.2 Menu styles. You have to click on the 'Shutdown' button (the button that comes up after clicking 'Shutdown' in the Main KDE Menu, with the lunar photo) and keep it so for a few seconds, for another box with 'Hibernate' and 'Suspend' options to come up ... it would be easier if the Shutdown button had these two options as well, like it is in XFCE or KDE 3.5.10 do. (Was pointed out in a reply at KDE Forums).
