Description Jon Nelson 2009-03-26 14:00:37 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.1)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

I'm using kde 4.2.1 and xrandr. When I switch resolutions from 1920x1200 to 1680x1050 to use an external LCD instead of the built-in LCD, almost everything works great. Two small issues crop up, only one of which I really care about - the bottom and the right hand screen edges no longer let me switch virtual desktops.

The other is that the "kickoff"-style menu is mispositioned.

The virtual desktop one hurts me, though, as that's something I use all day long.

Please try again, when 4.2.2 is available. Some multiscreen patches have been backported.
Comment 2 Martin Flöser 2009-04-07 22:04:36 UTC
Have you tried with 4.2.2 yet?

This bug still exists in 4.2.2
Comment 5 Ustun Ozgur 2009-08-08 13:29:13 UTC
This bug seems to have been resolved in 4.3.
Comment 6 Josef 2010-01-12 16:07:52 UTC
I'm using KDE 4.3.2 (Ubuntu) and have the same problem - none of the screen corners work.
Comment 7 Jon Nelson 2010-10-20 18:06:22 UTC
Still a problem with 4.5.2:

Qt: 4.6.3
KDE Development Platform: 4.5.2 (KDE 4.5.2) "release 10"
KWin: 4.5.2 (KDE 4.5.2) "release 10"

Can anybody else confirm?
This is very annoying and seems like it should be easy to fix.
Comment 8 Thomas Lübking 2010-10-20 18:53:33 UTC
I can as well trigger desktopgrid (br corner) as dnd windows across virtual desktops (or just draw the pointer across if i enable that feature) after lowering the resolution

wild guess:
"kquitapp plasma-desktop" - does it work now?
iff: what kind of panels do you use?
Comment 9 Martin Flöser 2011-07-10 06:52:21 UTC
I just checked the kwin code: when the screen resolution changes it is ensured that the screenedges will function afterwards.

Most likely this might be as comment #8 suggests a Plasma issue. Please verify that later versions of KDE are still affected (best test for 4.7) and please answer the question from comment #8.
