(From Bugsquad KOfficeDay2)

1. Open Karbon and create a new document
2. Select the calligraphy tool and draw a line
3. Select a style in the Styles docker
Result: The style of the new line doesn't change.

Contrary to that if you add a line using the freehand tool you can change the style "right away" while the tool is still selected.

Its the background color which is getting used as the style of the calligraphy shapes as there is no support for strokes with dynamic width.
