Description Anton Petrusevich 2009-03-07 22:56:38 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.1)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

I have been visiting http://lkml.indiana.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel to read LKML for long time. But when I moved to KDE 4.2 from 3.5.9, I cannot read it normally, as pages rendered incorrectly. There are many <li> tags and sometimes two or more of them are on the same line. Only Konq form KDE 4.2 (and 4.2.1) has this problem, nor Konq from 3.5.9, nor Firefox, nor Opera, thou I didn't try other KDE 4 versions.

I cannot reproduce this bug with the indicated URL using Konqueror 4.2.1 in kubuntu 9.04.
Comment 2 Anton Petrusevich 2009-03-30 22:48:20 UTC
Try this URL: http://lkml.indiana.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/0903.2/index.html
and look at the end of the page.
Comment 3 Carlos Licea 2009-03-30 22:52:54 UTC
I can reproduce th bug with that URL, which, if I can say, is just insanely huge!.
Comment 4 Anton Petrusevich 2009-03-30 23:13:41 UTC
What details can I provide? I can show you a screenshot if you don't belive me.
Comment 5 Carlos Licea 2009-03-31 08:51:02 UTC
It is not that I didn't believe you, just that I couldn't reproduce the bug. With the other URL you posted I could, in fact, reproduce it.
You could certanly post a screenshoot if you want to.
Comment 6 Anton Petrusevich 2009-03-31 18:03:04 UTC
So, is this bug now CONFIRMED?
Comment 7 Anton Petrusevich 2009-04-07 00:45:31 UTC
I just want to confirm that the bug is still present in 4.2.2.

Using KDE 4.2.2 I can't find any lines with two list-items. Can you tell me where to look?

snapshot of the problem

Here is the snapshot of the problem. Mostly, the problem is apparent at the end of the big pages.
Comment 10 Allan Sandfeld 2009-04-14 21:08:49 UTC
I still can't reproduce the bug. All those pages looks perfect here. Maybe it is a timing issue.
Comment 11 Anton Petrusevich 2009-04-14 21:37:24 UTC
Huh. What can I do to diagnose this problem? I know nothing about khtml.
Comment 12 Allan Sandfeld 2009-04-14 21:53:28 UTC
Does it happen reliably? Can you make it go away by reloading? What happens if you save a the page to disk and reopen it?
Comment 13 Anton Petrusevich 2009-04-14 22:43:20 UTC
> Does it happen reliably?

Yes. Absolutely.

> Can you make it go away by reloading?

No. After reloading nothing changes.

> What happens if you save a the page to disk and reopen it?

Nothing different. It looks reliably the same way wrong.
Comment 14 Allan Sandfeld 2009-04-14 22:57:58 UTC
Okay, you should then save the file and attach it the bug report.

It is likely that the bug is related #182164, since my patch there is the only patch affecting <li> that I have applied to my build that is not on a standard 4.2.2

problematic html

Here we go
Comment 16 Anton Petrusevich 2009-06-21 00:05:34 UTC
Konqueror from 4.2.4 still has this problem. Here is the problematic URL: http://lkml.indiana.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/0906.2/index.html
Comment 17 Anton Petrusevich 2009-08-11 00:04:28 UTC
http://www.kdenews.org/2009/08/04/kde-430-released-caizen : "The statistics from the bug tracker speak for themselves: 10,000 bugs have been fixed."... blah-blah-blah... But this bug is still there!

The bug is here: kde 4.3.2, qt 4.5.3
Why the bug status is UNCORFIRMED ?
Comment 19 Martin Koller 2011-07-23 15:37:41 UTC
I can reproduce with KDE 4.6.5 and the attached html
Comment 20 Anton Petrusevich 2015-04-22 11:01:25 UTC
BTW, this bug is still alive in KDE 4.13.3. I just don't use konqueror anymore
