Version: (using KDE 4.2.0) Compiler: GCC 4.3.3 Default compiler options in make.conf (plus -ggdb) OS: Linux Installed from: Gentoo Packages Using QT 4.5 rc1, but problem experienced with 4.4.2 aswell. Using nvidia-drivers 180.29 but was reproducable on .27 aswell. I'm experiencing window tearing/artefacts; the window below the selected window seems to be drawn on top of the selected window. As I can remember it this didn't happen with KDE-libs 4.2.0, but started with -r1 if I remember it right. It seems to primarily be affecting windows which use another toolkit (such as aMSN (tcl/tk) and the GIMP (gtk+)) than QT. Artefacts also seem to be appearing pretty regularly in the panel, aswell as when maximising mplayer. A sample screenshot might be in place, so I'm attatching a few.

Will noone look into this? I've rebuilt all relevant packages and this problem persists. Since noone else seems to have the same problem I'm thinking it's me, but I have no idea as to why this behavior appears. Anyone?
Sorry for the late reply but we simply can't reproduce this bug. Can you still reproduce using a recent NVIDIA driver and a recent version of KDE (eg. 4.5)?
@ Viktor if you don't intend to use compositing at all, in xorg.conf a) disable it entirely Section "Extensions" Option "Composite" "Disable" EndSection b) activate the backingstore Section "Device" ........ Option "BackingStore" "true" ..
All the software versions mentioned in this bug report are quite outdated. Especially KDE and the NVIDIA driver. Because of that I set this bug to unmaintained.
