Version: 4.3.0 (using KDE 4.2.0) OS: Linux Installed from: Unspecified Linux If I attempt to play mp3s, flacs, or oggs from any app that uses phonon and has a convenient playlist (amarok, phinix) while the xine plugin is selected as the backend, upon trying to change songs I will get a 1-4 seconds lag and then a slightly sputtering start. This occurs about 50% of the time I change tracks while another one is playing. The UI does not seem to be frozen at any point. This does not occur if I use the gstreamer backend: switching songs is instant and has no sputters. The issue also does not occur if I use an app like kaffeine, which uses xine and has playlist support, but does not use phonon. Upon asking around, it seems like this issue is present for some but not all amarok + phonon-xine users. If you're lucky enough to have this issue, to reproduce: 1) open a phonon-xine app. 2) load up a playlist. 3) play a song, wait a couple of seconds, and double-click on another one. 4) wait multiple seconds until it starts playing.
The same problem here. When I have songs in the playlist and let amarok play all the songs, it jumps the first seconds of the song and then starts the song from that point.
This issue has disappeared for me recently, perhaps due to a xine update.
