Description Christoph Lange 2009-02-05 12:02:56 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)
Compiler: gcc 4.1.2
OS: Linux
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

Setting: Nepomuk is running, according to the "system settings" applet and to the system tray icon.

$ sopranocmd --dbus org.kde.NepomukServer --model main list
process 16578: arguments to dbus_message_new_method_call() were incorrect, assertion "path!= NULL" failed in file dbus-message.c line 1070.
This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library.
D-Bus not built with -rdynamic so unable to print a backtrace
[1] 16578 abort sopranocmd --dbus org.kde.NepomukServer --model main list

Yes, I'm running these versions. I should say that this error does not always occur, but only sometimes. Unfortunately, I can not yet tell you more about when it occurs and when it doesn't.

is this bug still valid for you with latest version ?

I gave it several tries. Sometimes it worked; sometimes I'm getting a new error:

QDBusConnection: error: could not send message to service "org.kde.NepomukServer" path "" interface "org.soprano.Model" member "listStatements"
"/usr/bin/sopranocmd(26884)" Error in thread 139770561844992 : "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.InvalidSignature - Unexpected reply signature: got "no signature", expected "s" (QString)"
"/usr/bin/sopranocmd(26884)" Error in thread 139770561844992 : "Invalid iterator."
Error occured: Invalid iterator.
Total results: 0
Execution failed: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.InvalidSignature - Unexpected reply signature: got "no signature", expected "s" (QString)

Exit code is 2.

To me this looks like an installation problem or something. In any case it is not a KDE bug but a soprano issue. If the problem persists and it is really a bug please report here: http://www.sf.net/projects/soprano
