Version: (using Devel) OS: Linux Installed from: Compiled sources I use different monitors (not at the same time) at home. I have the panel maximized from the left to the right. When switching from my 22" to my 15" the panel is correctly resized. When switching back, the panel stays in the size as it has been on the 15". Dunno if this is a configuration thing or a missing feature that locks the panel with the edges of the screen.
* no kde version number noted * need more information as what is meant by "switching from"; is this while logged in? is it between log ins? how is the size changed (automatically, xrandr, ..)? etc..
No, I shutdown my computer everytime before switching to another monitor. Of course those monitors have different resolutions. The size of the panel is not really changed. The size of the panel stays as it has been on the previous monitor (of course smaller because the resolution is smaller on my 15"). But resizing works perfect when changing from my 15" back to the 22". Hope, you know what I mean. I'll attach a screenshot if you wish.
Sorry, I forgot the version number. It's 4.1 RC...
I can confirm this issue on KDE 4.2 (kubuntu packages). Situation: 1) I have a maximized horizontal panel on a screen with a resolution of 1600x1200. The panel is maximized. 2) Logging in remotely via NoMachine NX and a resolution of 1400x1050 the panel is still shown as maximized 3) Logging in locally again (screen: 1600x1200) the panel is shown with a widht of 1400 pixels and not (!) maximized. Wanted: A maximized panel should always uses 100 % of the screen width (horizontal panel) independent of the resolution chosen and not a fixed width that was determined when the "maximize" action was executed.
fixed now; min size was not being set properly and so the panel would sometimes shrink down depending on the contents. fix appears in 4.3.0 and has been backported to 4.2 branch for packagers who wish to pick it up.
