Description Marcos David 2009-01-15 17:36:29 UTC
Version: 4.1.96 (using Devel)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

I've tried a few widgets that required an internet connection and they don't seem to work properly.
I traced the problem to their lack of a web connection, but the problem is that the widgets never ask for the proxy authentication.
I have the correct proxy settings in the systemsettings for KDE4, but the applets don't seem to use those settings.

I've used Transconnect (http://transconnect.sourceforge.net/) to automatically bypass the proxy and the applet works.
So this is definitely a bug in the way the dashboard applets access the Internet.

This probably happens because QtWebkit (pure Qt) is used to show the Dashboard widgets and it doesn't use KDE proxy settings.

alot has been done on the qtwebkit front. Please reopen if this is still valid in trunk.

Closing correctly.
